"a history of the blues" for the festival. Its 1960 debut
performance had its Monterey audience alternately
weeping and cheering, leading to a 20 minute standing
ovation at its conclusion. Hendricks' 1996 re-interpretation
featured long time festival favorites Dianne Reeves and Joe
Williams
